Youth Night 2/24/06

We had another awesome service! God is really moving in our youth group. I am so proud of the young people! They led the worship service and did such a great job. Kelsey played the piano, played four songs and did great on them all. Emily was our drummer and she did such a good job! Andrew led the worship service, and Jackie and Jessica praise sang, I am so proud of each and every one of them.

After listening to me struggle to sing, This is the Air I Breathe. preached an awesome message, titled, you'll never guess, What is the Air You Breathe? The youth really responded.

After youth service some of us went out to Coney Island, and had a good time.

Well I hope that everyone has a Blessed Day!

God Bless,
Nicole

Fireworks

Fireworks
by: Jack Zavada, Source Unknown
A few weeks before Independence Day, I noticed a fireworks stand in a parking lot in our city. It reminded me of the many wonderful fireworks shows I've attended with my family. There's something magical about those brilliant colors exploding against the dark sky.
But there's a problem with fireworks. They don't last. The same is true of many of the "fireworks" experiences in our lives. We fight and struggle for things that seem beautiful and alluring, but after we get them, their appeal disappears, just like fireworks. Maybe it's a shiny new car or speedboat. Maybe it's a big, impressive house. It might even be a promotion at work or a prestigious career.
So many of the things of this world are like fireworks. They promise happiness and fulfillment but can't deliver. TV commercials play on our emotions, making us believe that if we drive a certain kind of SUV or clean our floors with their super-efficient mop, we'll be happy at last. More often than not, all we feel is disillusioned.
If you've had enough of these "fireworks" experiences and the letdowns that follow, I challenge you to pursue the only thing in life that doesn't disappoint: a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The astounding thing about loving God is that it actually gets better every day. Once you give your heart to Jesus, you'll have happiness and fulfillment that lasts into eternity, and you'll never want to go back to "fireworks" experiences again.

I Found this while searching online. I hope that you enjoy it. Have a Blessed day!

God Bless,
Nicole

Kerplunk

We had a pretty good service that night. I taught on "Our Youth Group is Like Kerplunk". So here is a little of what I said. When we all bond together, and worship together that we have strength. And that strength is what will help us become better Christians. I said that we need to support, encourage and pray for one another. I hope that we can all make an effort to do this because we are the body of Christ.

I hope that you have a Blessed Day!

Brrr....

My Goodness was Saturday cold. Its about time we have some winter weather in Michigan. I have to be truthful, I was such a chicken, I went outside only once. I went to Sweetheart Bakery, and got some YUMMY cookies.

Please pray for my church, a sickness has attacked the saints. It has hit the elderly and the children, and all in between.

We are also having Wednesday night Revival, which has been awesome. The first Wed. Brother Donald Simmons preached, and did a wonderful job. The Spirit really moved in the service. Then this past Wed. Brother Spencer McCool preached. That was another awesome service.

I hope that you have a Blessed Day! And Stay Warm.

God Bless,
Nicole

Finally, I can breath!

My goodness this week was SOOO CRAZY!! Where should I start. My friend, Candice was in emergency. I stayed over night. She was in so much pain, but they finally diagnosed what was wrong. Please pray for her though, she still isn't 100%.

I went home Wed., went to church and then went back to the Westland area, on Thursday night for Jay and Jessi's wedding rehearsal. Which went really well, and the dinner was good, too. Then it was home again, and back out to Westland, on Friday, to help decorate the hall. I spent that night at Sister Kendra's house. And I just want to thank you, Sister Kendra, for everything. We saw a great movie called Just Like Heaven.

We woke up Saturday morning and got ready for the wedding, and made it to the church in time. The wedding was beautiful, and so was the reception. So although the weekend was a bit crazy, now on Sunday night I can finally breath.

I hope that you have a Blessed Day!

A Small Blessing

I just wanted to give a little praise report. I have a problem with my lower back. Sometimes I get muscle spasms. Well in my Music Appreciation class, the desks are so bad. I seriously could not sit through a class, without my back acting up. I didn't know what to do, and our teacher does not want us to switch seats.

Well when I went into class the other day, there was a different desk in the room. It doesn't even match the rest of the desks in the room. And it was where I sit. I have not had a back pain since, this new desk showed up. I thank God so much, for what seems like a small blessing, but makes me feel so much better.

I hope that you have a Blessed Day!

God Bless,
Nicole

A Good Weekend

For Christmas I received a tea pot, with a tea basket. This makes it possible for me to use loose tea if I could find it. I looked in my local grocery stores, and there was none to be found. Found a place that sells it, on Main Street, in Royal Oak. Its called Sweetwaters. Here is the website: http://www.sweetwaterscafe.com/ I got to flavors one is Cinnamon Spice, and that is a black tea. The other is White Peony, which is a white tea. So I am sitting here sipping on wonderful tea as I am typing. Hopefully I don't spill any lol.

I also wanted to tell about children's church this Friday. It went GREAT! We had a great turn out, and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. I pray that every children's church could be as awesome as this one was.

One last thing. My sister had a volleyball tournament, this Saturday. I am so proud of her and her team. They came in second place, which was an awesome achievement. GO ZOE!!! (soon to be Parkway, lol)

Well I need to go finish the delicious tea. I hope that you have a Blessed Day!

God Bless,
Nicole

My Presentation

Well today in Music Class I had to give a presentation. What my class does is, there are these sections in the book that are about a page. Then each one of us in the class chooses one, reads it, and reports back to the class what we read. Easy right? Except I get really nervous talking in front of people, or talking to people I don't know. So this combined my two fears. I had to talk in front of people that I don't know. lol.

The subject of my presentation was actually pretty cool though. It was about Christian Music in the "New World". The book talked about all of the different types of Christian music that came about. They even talked about modern music. Like contemporary. I thought this was so cool that God would give me this topic. Because I didn't know what it was about until the day I got home, on the day she assigned it. So I brought in a cd with some contemporary music on it. I thought that it would be a way for me to put myself out as a Christian.

I have to say that my only disappointment was that after my presentation, no one clapped. They did for all the previous presentations. But, oh well, I guess there is nothing I can do.

I hope that you have a BLESSED DAY!!!

God Bless,
Nicole
